Food delivery workers who use electric bikes in New York City are seeing an increase in theft, according to the New York Times. These e-bikes can cost up to $2,000.

So far, about 24 delivery drivers have reported thefts to the police department. All of the reported thefts have involved the same two men, who police say ambushed the riders with either pepper spray or knives.

So far no arrests have been made.

Workers told the NYT's the e-bikes are necessary due to the ammount of orders they recieve.
