Drone deliveries are getting closer to being a reality as Google's drone delivery division, Wing Aviation, received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to operate as a small airline, Bloomberg reports.

The certification allows Wing to begin dropping packages to customers in limited areas, per FAA regulations. Wing will begin delivering small consumer items in two Virginia counties within the coming months. With the FAA's blessing, Wing will be allowed to apply for permission to expand to other areas as the pilot progresses.
